California's Mexican: Authentic Mexican Cuisine in Vista, CA

Best beef soup on north county. really fresh every time you ask for it.

Definitely a Californian Mexican restaurant! Even though it's definitely pricey (double what a chain would charge, on average), they are well worth it. Will be coming back, the beans were perfect, not soupy, not too chunky, just the right amount of lard and spices Was supposed to be a "eat at the stop lights" day going towards work, but it was too good not to finish half while sitting in the parking lot.

My man ordered a Carne Asada burrito & it was so good. The meat was great quality & the tortilla was handmade and delicious. They keep things very authentic! If you're looking for a burrito full of meat without all the extra fillers this is the place to go! The salsa bar was fresh & full of choices. My favorite was the guacamole green salsa & the chipotle dark red salsa. The customer service was extremely welcoming & friendly. Highly recommend stopping by this little gem! I know I'll definitely be back

I got the special, 2 fish tacos, rice & beans with a drink for $11.99. I think that was an excellent price. We sat out on the patio and it was nice. At first glance it doesn’t look like it will be great but I was wrong.

I’ve been visiting Vista and the greater San Diego / SoCal area for over 40 years, and over that time you get to know which Mexican restaurants are truly worth coming back to. California’s Mexican Restaurant has always been one of our family’s top three go-to spots for Mexican food when we’re in town. No particular order — just consistently great food that keeps us coming back. The portions are generous, the food is fresh, and the flavors are exactly what you hope for from authentic Southern California Mexican food. On top of that, the employees are always amazing — friendly, welcoming, and the kind of people that make you feel glad you stopped in. If you’re trying to narrow down authentic Mexican restaurants in the Vista area, this is absolutely one you should put on your list.

I stop by to get the caldo de res and man was it good. Had a very good flavor. Also the staff was awesome they made you feel very welcomed. My new spot for caldo .

My fiance and I stopped by this unassuming spot because he had been there before and wow, glad we did! Freshly made tortilla chips and a Pacifico on the side covered patio was perfect while we waited for our burritos. I had the fish burrito and took a trip to the salsa bar and got an assortment and it was soooo yummy. Quick friendly service, authentic atmosphere, and doesn't break the bank. Definitely can't wait to try something else on the menu!

After hiking the trails at Lake Cavalier, I sure did have a hankering for my plain Carne Asada burrito, order of fries, and a diet coke....because why not? The complementary chips and salsa is quite good. The food is great, and the service is great. This is my go-to burrito spot! Come on down, get some chow here...
